Super Bowl 50
Panthers vs. Broncos (Sunday 6:30pm)
The cagy veteran vs. the new face of the NFL. Peyton Manning vs. Cam Newton. Does Peyton, on the heels of his latest HGH controversy and injury-filled season, go out in style winning the Super Bowl and retiring? Can Cam capture the first Super Bowl Championship in Carolina history? The question will lie in the defenses of both teams. Denver will have a tougher time containing Newton than they did Tom Brady and the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. Plus, the Panthers have a running game to deal with in the combination of Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert (and others). For Carolina, can Luke Kuechly, Josh Norman and friends take away Manning's weapons and running game to put the game on his shoulders? And, will the inexperience of Carolina on the big stage of the biggest game come in to question if they don't get off to a lead from the get-go as they've done so many times this season, including a 17-0 first quarter edge over Arizona in the NFC Championship Game. So, will it be 2 for Peyton or 1 for Cam? On paper, I think it's Carolina all the way. But funny things happen at the Super Bowl, as we here in New England are all to aware about, right?!
