New York & Los Angeles -- FOX Sports, America’s No. 1 sports network for 14 consecutive years and The Daily, News Corp.’s top-selling iPad news publication, today announced the recent release of College Bowl Guide 2011-12, a new free mobile sports application dedicated to the more than 30 college football bowl games scheduled this month and next. A collaborative effort between FOX Sports and The Daily, College Bowl Guide 2011-12 is available exclusively to sports fans using Apple’s iPad device.
The new, comprehensive College Bowl Guide 2011-12 app is the first of its kind, providing extensive coverage of every single bowl game and participating team. It features over 100 pages of content, including interviews, game analysis, photos, highlights, interactive games, voting, predictions, TV schedule and more, plus exclusive video from CFB on FOX lead game analyst Charles Davis. The app updates every game day throughout the bowl season.
"We’re thrilled to be collaborating with FOX Sports on this project," said The Daily Publisher, Greg Clayman. "In marrying the visually stunning and engaging content and technology that The Daily is known for with the top-quality sports reporting from the team at Fox Sports we have created an app which is truly a first of its kind and a must-have for any college football fan."
"The college bowl season is an exciting time for sports fans everywhere, and FOX Sports is no different,” said Jeff Husvar, Executive Vice President & General Manager, FOX Sports Interactive Media. “We've been partnered with The Daily since its launch, and this app is a natural extension of that relationship. We believe our talent, video and writers lend credibility and personality to the app, and we look forward to doing more with them in the future."
Launched late last week and promoted during Sunday’s NFL on FOX coverage, College Bowl Guide 2011-12 has already had thousands of downloads, and is currently the No. 1 ranked sports iPad app on iTunes' best sellers list. So unique, College Bowl Guide is currently featured in Apple Store’s New & Noteworthy section.
