After an amazing Masters finish and an abysmal showing by the Celtics and Red Sox the past few days, we here at TCN give you a handful of things that may be on our horizon:
* - The PGA Tour that has a re-invigorated Tiger Woods on it that can only mean one thing for players, tour officials and fans alike - a MUCH better 2011 PGA season. As we like to say, if Tiger's not in contention, we don't watch.
* - The Red Sox may be 1-7 after 8 games, but we think that after 40 games, Red Sox Nation could be singing a much different tune. It won't be 33-7, but would it surprise you if the sox were 25-15 after going on a 24-8 run?
* - The Celtics continue to put more and more pressure on themselves after an embarrassing 23 point loss in Miami to Lebrontourage Sunday. It looks like the 3 seed is in order which COULD mean hitting the road to Miami and Chicago in rounds 2 and 3 of the upcoming NBA Playoffs. But, let's be honest, winning an NBA Championship means winning 16 games (possibly losing 12 games) and having to win on the road. So, does it really scare you that the Celtics will have to win once in either place? Didn't think so.
* - It's right back to familiar places for the Bruins and Canadiens. The two teams meet again for what's not turning into an annual affair in round one as the #3 B's host the #6 Habs starting this week in Boston. If Tim Thomas plays like the Tim Thomas of the regular season, we'll still be talking Bruins hockey into June instead of the usual playoff collapse.
* - I had high hopes for Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson on the ABC crew, but they have so disappointed, cowtailing to the NBA's top stars in Kobe Bryant and Lebrontourage. In TCN's future, you will for certain that we will be turning off the TV volume for ANY ABC or ESPN game involving those two and putting on the radio call.
