NFL Week 17 - Early Game Thoughts

A few thoughts heading into the Sunday night Rams/Seahawks winner-take-all NFC West Title Game…

  • Now that’s how you head into the playoffs Falcons & Steelers.  Atlanta’s cruises to the #1 seed in the NFC by routing the Panthers and Pittsburgh routs Cleveland en route to the AFC’s #2 seed.  For their spoils, each gets a division title and a first-round bye.
  • For their teams not showing up in week 17 (and most of the 2010 season), Tony Sporano and Eric Mangini should both be fired in Miami and Cleveland.
  • It’s time to say goodbye to Marvin Lewis in Cincinnati.
  • Tom Cable deserves another shot in Oakland even though he probably won’t get one.
  • Kudos to the Tampa Bay Bucs, the best team not going to the postseason.  A 10-6 season will get head coach Raheem Morris some coach of the year votes.
  • How about those Detroit Lions?!  A four-game win streak to end the season.  Good times are ahead in Motown.  Now, they just need to find a way to keep QB Matthew Stafford healthy.
