Tuesday night musings...

So, let's see how this goes -

* - Mike Lowell heads to the DL. Jeff Bailey's back up from Pawtucket

* - Eddie House is back with the Celtics. No free agency for his House-ness!

* - Rasheed Wallace may be coming to Boston when free agency starts at midnight.

* - NHL Free Agency also begins....YAWN!!!

* - Monday Night RAW for next week has already been taped. Cena vs. Triple H goes to a no contest so it's a triple threat match vs. Orton at the PPV.

* - Reportedly, Ted DiBiase SR. is very good as guest host on that RAW.

* - for the second straight week, Superstars on ABC has sucked me into watching.

Mayne Street - "Cutbacks"

In this week's webisode of Kenny Mayne's "Mayne Street," cutbacks hit the ESPN staff just like the rest of the country. We get cameos from Brian Kenny and Jeremy Schaap as well as the returns of Alison Becker and the Cowboy.

Not bad and definitely better than webisode 3. I like Kenny's new name too!

Jamie Cullum does "Thriller"

The tributes to Michael Jackson continue on the concert tours this week. Last week, we shared the New Kids on the Block with you and today, it's Jamie Cullum's turn.

Here's a little "Thriller" at his Glastonbury concert. It's about 4 minutes into the video.

Not bad while standing on top of a piano, huh?!

WWE completes 15 Superstar trade!

Here are the details from the mammoth 15 Superstar trade made by Donald Trump before he sold RAW. Boy, did they really take away from ECW! The only ones left are Champ Tommy Dreamer and Christian. OUCH! The three big ECW stars that left for RAW showed up last night to face Randy Orton in a gauntlet match. Swagger made good for himself allowing a countout to assist his fellow heel and then Henry made a faceturn by beating Orton to end the night.

* Traded to Raw: Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Alicia Fox and Gail Kim

* Traded to ECW: Shelton Benjamin, Goldust, William Regal, Brie and Nikki Bella

* Traded to Smackdown: Matt Hardy, Finlay, David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd and Natalya

Looks like the new Hart Foundation will get a push on Friday nights. That's a good thing. We could see some good stuff between them, Jeff and Matt Hardy, Edge and Chris Jericho.

All in all, ECW got squashed! AGAIN!

More Big Shots at Foxwoods

As promised, here's Jim Rice at the Foxwoods Casino's "Big Shots Titans at the Tee" event.

RAW gets a title match and a special host

From WWE.com, we get news that Vince McMahon will introduce us to a special guest host to start Monday Night RAW tonight.

Also, we get a tag team title match as new champs Edge/Chris Jericho take on the Colons. I'm glad to see we get Edge/Jericho back on RAW. At least that will mean one decent segment as I'm sure we'll get more of Triple H and Randy Orton. That feud seems destined to never end until they hit Hell in the Cell possibly at Summerslam.

It all starts at 9pm, ET on the USA Network.

"Big Shots Titans at the Tee" at Foxwoods

Thanks to our special TCN correspondents, we get an inside peek at Foxwood's "Big Shots Titans at the Tee" event held last week. My brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Monica, spent the night rubbing elbows with some of sports elite ranging from Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor to Red Sox Hall of Famer Jim Rice to Yankees closer Rich "Goose" Gossage. Plus, celebrities like Mark Wahlberg were also on hand for the festivities.

The contest paired the best long drivers in America with a famous celebrity or sports personality. All of it takes place at the Lake of Isles course at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.

Check out the pics!

Sounds like a good time was had by all! The contest will air on Fox this fall on September 20 and 27, right after NFL Football.

The 30 winners include inspirational stories of the selfless work of individuals who dedicate their time and energy to helping others and improving the lives of those around them.

Mayweather/Marquez 24/7 Debuts August 29th on HBO

From HBO Sports -

NEW YORK, June 29, 2009
– With the intriguing showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Juan Manuel Marquez rescheduled for Sept. 19 in Las Vegas, HBO Sports’ groundbreaking “24/7” reality franchise, which has captured seven Sports Emmy® Awards, will premiere MAYWEATHER/MARQUEZ 24/7 on SATURDAY, AUG. 29 (10:15-10:45 p.m. ET/PT), it was announced today by Ross Greenburg, president, HBO Sports. The all-new, four-episode, all-access series spotlights a host of intriguing storylines, with Floyd Mayweather, the sport’s most irrepressible superstar, returning after a year-and-a-half absence to face Juan Manuel Marquez, one of boxing’s most accomplished performers, as they prepare for their September pay-per-view showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Noted Greenburg, “Now that the fight has been rescheduled, we are excited to resume production. This latest edition of ‘24/7’ features all the ingredients that we look for in greenlighting the ‘24/7’ franchise: big-time boxing stars, engaging storylines and in Floyd’s case, a larger-than-life personality that is tailor-made for reality television.”

Episodes two and three of MAYWEATHER/MARQUEZ 24/7 debut on subsequent Saturdays – SEPT. 5 (10:00-10:30 p.m.) and 12 (10:00-10:30 p.m.) – while the finale debuts FRIDAY, SEPT. 18 (9:30-10:00 p.m.), just one night before the fight. All four episodes will have multiple replay dates on HBO, and the series will also be available on HBO On Demand.

MAYWEATHER/MARQUEZ 24/7 will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes access, along with in-depth interviews, as these determined warriors prepare for their mega-fight. This is Mayweather’s third “24/7” appearance, while Marquez is making his HBO reality series debut. Regarded as the best boxer of his era, the undefeated Mayweather (39-0, 25 KOs) is back after a brief self-imposed retirement. A training camp injury forced the fight date to be reset to Sept. 19.

Marquez is a dynamic fighter (50-4-1, 37 KOs) from Mexico City who shares at least one thing with his flashy opponent: They’re both willing to fight anybody in the sport, regardless of division. Marquez is moving up from the lightweight ranks to challenge boxing’s most provocative star.

Storylines for this fast-paced series will include the interaction between Mayweather and his uncle/trainer, Roger Mayweather, and Marquez’s rock-solid relationship with his longtime trainer Ignacio Beristain.

MAYWEATHER/MARQUEZ 24/7 is the latest installment of the widely acclaimed “24/7” franchise that began in 2007 on HBO with “De La Hoya/Mayweather 24/7” and “Mayweather/Hatton 24/7.” The series continued in 2008 with “Calzaghe/Jones 24/7” and “De La Hoya/Pacquiao 24/7,” and resumed in 2009 with “Pacquiao/Hatton 24/7.”

Newsday.com has observed, “HBO’s 24/7 series is the best sports program on television. Bar none.”

Luke Bryan pays homage to the late Michael Jackson

Thanks to our friend, the Bloggin Momma over at Nashville Gab, we get the heads up on the latest Luke Bryan edition of LBTV.

It's a little tribute to the late "King of Pop," Michael Jackson. It's pretty fun too!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Lillian Garcia leaving the WWE

Sad news for tons of WWE fans today as ring announcer and diva Lillian Garcia is leaving the WWE.

Here's her post from her official website -

Hi Everyone,

I hope all of you are doing well! I am writing to address the situation in which WWE is looking for a Female Ring Announcer/Singer. The truth of the matter is that they are looking for someone new because I have given them my notice that I will be leaving at the end of my contract this year. It is with a heavy heart that I have made this decision because WWE has been my family from day one and you, the WWE Universe have always been incredible to me. The fact is that I am getting married later this year and have decided to enter into a new phase of my life but I will truly miss all of you and the WWE tremendously.

Love you all & keep rockin!

Forever Rockin',
Lilian :-)

She's one of my favs and will surely be missed. Here's Lillian's famous singing of the National Anthem at the Smackdown after 9/11, the first public event held after the attacks on our country back in 2001.

At least we have her for a little while longer! Good luck, Lillian.

WWE "The Bash" PPV Predictions

Tonight, it's PPV time again for the WWE and they're giving us "The Bash." It's the old "Great American Bash" from the WCW/WWE days but now it's just "The Bash," which is a hideous name, but nonetheless, we give you our predictions.

* John Cena vs. The Miz
I'm pulling for the upset here as we get the real beginning to a Maryse/Miz relationship as Maryse gets involved just enough to let The Miz do something exceptional to defeat the soon-to-be-married Cena.
Winner: The Miz

* NO DQ Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. The Great Khali
Honestly, does anyone care about this match? What the heck, we'll give Ziggler the duke to get his first PPV win.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler

* WWE Women's Title Match: Melina vs. Michelle McCool
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...I'd rather see Maryse vs. Mickie James.
Winner: Melina

* IC Title vs. Mask Match: Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio
Match of the night right here people. It really could go either way, but let's just say this. The WWE makes millions of those Mysterio masks, so he'll get another I-C Title run starting tonight.
Winner: Rey Mysterio

* Unified Tag Team Title Match: Carlito and Primo Colon vs. Legacy
Who's got the juice? Legacy of course. They'll look good in gold as a reward for being Orton's lackeys the past couple of months.
Winner: Legacy

* ECW Title Scramble Match: Tommy Dreamer vs. Christian vs. Finlay vs. Jack Swagger vs. Mark Henry
It seems like Finlay's being made back into the badass of old. What better way to get him over than by beating the crap out of our other guys right?
Winner: Finlay

* World Title Match: CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy
Does Hardy have a new contract? If he does, he gets the belt back. If he doesn't, it's another Punk win.
Winner: CM Punk

* WWE Title Three Stages of Hell Match: Randy Orton vs. HHH
(The 1st Fall is a Regular Match, The 2nd Fall is Falls Count Anywhere Match, If Needed, the 3rd Fall is a Stretcher Match)
This one will go to a third and deciding fall. Can you say 14-time WWE Champ? No, but it only means the feud continues until Hell in the Cell later in the year where Triple H goes over again.
Winner: Randy Orton (with help from Legacy of course)

Michael Jackson 1958-2009

Shocking news today as pop icon Michael Jackson has passed away at age 50. Jackson suffered cardiac arrest at his LA home this afternoon and was pronounced dead at 6:15, ET.

The man who revolutionized pop music in the 80's, carrying MTV along the way, leaves behind a legacy that puts him in the iconic stature of Elvis and The Beatles.

"The King of Pop" will surely be missed as this becomes a very tragic Thursday with the passing of not only Jackson but also of Farrah Fawcett, who died at age 62 after a long battle with cancer.

Here's a few classic "Jacko" moments to enjoy as our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and millions of fans around the world.

There may never be a pop star as big as he was in our lifetime.

Tony LaRussa hits Studio 42 with Bob Costas

From MLB Network -

Interview to discuss Albert Pujols, Mark McGwire, his World Series experiences and his managing philosophy

June 25, 2009
– MLB Network’s Studio 42 with Bob Costas will host a conversation with St. Louis Cardinals Manager Tony LaRussa on June 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET on MLB Network. The conversation includes LaRussa’s thoughts on Albert Pujols, Mark McGwire, the ’88 World Series and his managing philosophy. LaRussa, who, at 2500, has the most wins of any St. Louis Cardinals manager in history, was recently named as a coach for the National League team at the 80th All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 14 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

Here's a promo for the interview:

Highlights of the LaRussa interview include:

“If you really start talking too much about what you need, what does your team think? ‘Oh, unless we get that need, then we can’t compete.’ That is the exact wrong message that you send your team. Because, first of all, our guys deserve more respect than that. We are competitive. But you always acknowledge that you’re not perfect and you are always trying to get better.”

“This guy works and works. He is smart, he knows his strokes, he studies the game between him and the pitcher and he’s got great courage at the plate. And then you tie that into his number one quality: He is just trying to win the stinking game. …This guy is a winning player. He’s the best player I have ever been around.”

“We ran an intense program of strength and fitness in Oakland and in St. Louis. It was monitored and it was supervised. … There wasn't anything illegal happening in the official Oakland or St. Louis program. And that's what I have defended because I saw all our guys in both those places work their butts off and get strong legally. … Away from the ballpark, I am not a policeman, we were not policemen. Did something happen? I don't know. I just know in Mark's case, I watched him from his first year through his rookie year, and many years subsequent, religiously working to get stronger and also being very careful with his diet and stuff. So I believe everything that I know about him was legitimate. If he strayed, I don't think he strayed much at all, or I never saw it. I think he is a guy that I should speak up and for in favor of and I continue to do so."

“Well, what I think of the congressional appearance was a disappointment. I’ve said, and I believe - I know he told me going in - he hired these lawyers. I think he was coached. Mark has never been comfortable in the spotlight. I don’t think he thought very well on his feet or in his seat that day. And he just fell back on that one answer.”

“I think that I’m a product of what I have been taught. And I think I have had great teachers. And they all tell you that you are better off making a move that you think makes sense than sitting around and not making a decision.”

Before the interview, MLB Network will air the third episode of its original reality series The Pen, featuring members of the Philadelphia Phillies’ bullpen, at 8:30 p.m. ET. Following the interview, MLB Network will replay the “Studio 42 with Bob Costas” conversation with former Major League Baseball umpires Don Denkinger, Bruce Froemming and Steve Palermo at 10:00 p.m. ET.

Thanks to the MLB Network for the pic and the promo video!

Turner and PGA Extend Partnership

From Turner Sports -

Turner’s Cartoon Network Enterprises Named Youth Licensing Agent

To Focus on PGA’s Presence Among Youth Fans

The PGA of America and Turner Sports have extended their broadcasting and interactive media agreements covering the PGA Championship, PGA Grand Slam of Golf and PGA.com through 2019. The new agreement between the two organizations will also expand to include licensing, with Turner’s Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) serving as the PGA’s licensing agent in the youth marketplace. In addition, Turner and the PGA will collaborate on a number of new media and consumer marketing initiatives to increase awareness and brand recognition of The PGA of America among key audiences, as well as introduce new, younger audiences to learning, playing and following the game.

For each PGA Championship, TNT will continue to provide comprehensive television coverage for the Thursday and Friday rounds, as well as early coverage for the final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday. Turner will also provide complete coverage of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, which is the hardest event to qualify for in the game. Additionally, Turner will continue its management of PGA.com, the official Web site of the PGA of America.

CNE, in its new role as licensing agent, will use its strengths to create an extensive consumer product and retail program for the PGA with the youth marketplace through a range of licensing agreements and co-branding partnerships across all product categories. This new product line will increase the PGA’s presence with the next generation of fans and also broaden the PGA’s scope of retail offerings.

“The PGA of America, Turner Sports and Time Warner have been longtime partners in presenting state-of-the-art digital media coverage of the best in championship golf to millions of fans, elevating the stature of our more than 28,000 men and women PGA Professionals,” said PGA of America Chief Executive Officer Joe Steranka. “While Turner will continue to showcase the PGA’s tradition of dramatic championships, we’re especially excited about new initiatives in the company’s licensing division and the creation of social media platforms that will help us make the game relevant and interesting to the next generation of golfers.”

“Turner’s partnership with The PGA of America reflects our continuing strategy to provide the most compelling television sports content, as well as managing the best digital content. Our expanded relationship will create opportunities to better serve golf fans around the world,” said David Levy, president of sales, distribution and sports for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. “This expanded partnership takes advantage of Turner’s expertise in licensing, digital media and event marketing. Our broader relationship should provide growth and create new opportunities to enhance the PGA brand.”

The partnership extension also features:

Turner’s continued oversight and responsibility of advertising sales for PGA.com and new mobile offerings and applications;
Turner will create actionable media and marketing that extends the PGA of America brand at the regional and local level and builds “conversations” with consumers through media and promotions that enhance PGA Professionals, golf and the Association as contemporary to young families and young adults;
Development of an enhanced PGA.com community where users will be able to connect with friends, family, other golfers and PGA Professionals to organize a round, schedule a lesson, track their playing statistics and plan their next golf vacation;
Exploration of a virtual learning experience where users would be able to interact with a PGA Professional online to receive game tips, analysis and feedback.

Examples of recent new media innovations by The PGA of America and Turner Sports:

First major golf event to have live hosted coverage during the broadcast window (2003) and first major golf event to have live hosted coverage available all four days (2004);

First golf event to be available across five platforms – TV, Web, video-on-demand, mobile and Podcast (2005);

First golf event to offer multiple live video streams – PGA.com Pipeline (2006; nominated for an Emmy in 2007) – and first major golf event to use Turner’s Mosaic video player with multiple simultaneous video streams (2008);

Development of the innovative PGA.com Value Guide, the national standard for used golf club valuation, and the PGA Trade-In Network. Together, these two programs have made it possible for golfers to find the value of their golf clubs, trade them in at over 6,000 PGA Professional-staffed facilities and use the value toward the purchase of new equipment.

Poor Coco - out for the season

Poor Coco Crisp. First, he gets traded to the KC Royals in the off-season for Ramon Ramirez and now, he's out for the year.

Coco's bad shoulder will now keep him out until 2010. At least he doesn't have to suffer and watch the Royals lose every night now.

Thanks to the Projo for the link.

Superstars was awful but at least we get a TO blowup!

Yes, if you were intrigued, like I was, last night about the debut of "Superstars" on ABC, you got a little good and a lot of bad.

The bad...mostly everything including more kayak races than I care to ever see again.

The good...Joanna Krupa blowing up on Terrell Owens! Yes, TO's the receiver here of someone else's tantrum at the end of the obstacle course.

Check it out from ABC -

So, TO's out and most of the drama is too. Believe me, I'd give more airtime to Warren Sapp and Jenn Brown!

A-I, Jim Mora and more hip-hopping for your enjoyment

If you're a fan of great sports soundbites set to music, and heck, who isn't, this is a must see for you!

The Allen Iverson and Jim Mora stuff never gets old! I'd love to see a Bill Parcells one of these done!

Great job by DJ Steve Porter on that one!

PGA on CBS This Weekend - Traveler's in Hartford

From CBS Sports -

Stewart Cink returns to Connecticut looking for his third victory at the TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP against a strong field led by 2009 U.S. Open winner Lucas Glover*, Sergio Garcia, Kenny Perry, Vijay Singh, Anthony Kim, Zack Johnson and Hunter Mahan who won in 2007 between runner-up finishes in 2006 and 2008. CBS Sports covers all the action from the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn., broadcasting the third and final rounds on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET, both days), live on the CBS Television Network.

CBS Sports’ golf anchor Jim Nantz and Ian Baker-Finch provide commentary from the 18th hole tower. Peter Oosterhuis calls the action at the 17th hole and Gary McCord at the 16th hole. Peter Kostis and Bobby Clampett serve as on-course reporters.

Cink will attempt to be the first player since Phil Mickelson in 2002 to successfully defend his Travelers Championship title this weekend in a standout field that includes Mahan, Glover, Garcia, Perry, Singh, Kim, Johnson, Ricky Barnes, Justin Leonard, David Toms, Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson, Ben Curtis, Brian Gay, Chad Campbell, Scott Verplank, Aaron Baddeley, Steve Elkington, Tim Herron, J.J. Henry, Jesper Parnevik, Corey Pavin, Paul Goydos and Boo Weekley. *(Glover scheduled to compete as of 6/23/09)

(On Travelers Championship Field):
Clearly there are many guys in the field that played well at Bethpage. But how much did that week take out of them? It was just a really difficult, frustrating week that tested your patience and it will be difficult to get your energy level back up to where it needs to be to compete at Hartford. But their golf games are clearly in good working order based on how they finished at Bethpage. Hunter Mahan could have easily won at Bethpage had his shot on 16 not hit the flagstick. We will never know because that was just a horrendously bad break. (On Ricky Barnes): I don’t know how Ricky will respond after Bethpage. How is he going to react? Will he build on it or take a step back and say, ‘I have almost secured my card and I am doing well and I am ahead of schedule.’ Or is he exhausted to the point where he does not compete very well? (On Lucas Glover): Now things have changed for Lucas. This will be his first opportunity to be announced on the first tee as U.S. Open Champion after he won his first major. He always put too much pressure on himself, trying to make things happen, rather than backing off and letting things happen. He needs to remember when he steps on the first tee at Hartford that he is still Lucas Glover, still a good old guy from South Carolina and he needs to play golf the same way. He can’t go out there and try to play like a U.S. Open Champion, whatever that is. If he starts thinking that he is a different person or a different player now because he has won a major, I think he is going to put too much pressure on himself and its going to be difficult for him…(On Phil Mickelson): On one hand, five runner-up finishes at the U.S. Open means that you have played some tremendous golf. On the other hand, it means that you have failed to get the deal sealed five times. It depends on what perspective you want to take from it. I know he has to be bitterly disappointed this time because of the extenuating circumstances. He has got to sharpen up his play down the stretch. He has had it right there for the taking and just not done it a couple of times. He has either missed a put, had a poor chip or tee shot or whatever the case may be. He needs to keep himself more under control over the last few finishing holes.

Don't forget, Lucas Glover is on Letterman tonight on CBS at 11:35pm, ET.

Congratulations to Jon!

Finally, we got the answer as to whether Jon and Kate of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" fame would stay together. Thankfully for Jon, the answer is no.

I'm sure that Kate would just as easily want them to go through counseling, stay together, have more drama and whatever else is in her head that she could think would drum up more business to make her more of an insta-star.

Well, guess what Kate, you're 15 minutes of fame are up. And speaking of behalf of the world, we are happy it is. There's nothing more for us to see.

I'll confess that I've been a fan of the show in its early years. Always, though, I would say what a nag and a b*tch Kate was for how she treated Jon.

Jon always took it for the sake of the "show" and of course, the kids. But after years of getting used as a punching bag, he finally got fed up with it. He didn't want the show anymore. He just wanted to be a family living their lives.

For the past two years, Jon stayed home with the kids while Kate took to the road to promote the "Kate Show" and make money. Believe me, it's hard to go from working a full-time job to going into being a stay-at-home dad. I can relate. It's what I have had to do after the heartless bean counters at my former company threw us all out last year. Ever since, I've taken care of my 2-year old daughter at home while trying to find some kind of good job in what's left of the American business community.

You have good days and bad days and you try to learn as you go. And that's with one, never mind eight kids. I can only imagine how tough it would be to have someone like Kate nagging you day after day on top of that and of course, going out and throwing "her success" in his face.

Believe me, neither is a saint in all this. And yes, none of us really know the whole truth. We just know what comes in through on the Kate-filter. I'm not condoning the "extra" side stuff that may or may not have happened on either side.

Sometimes, divorce is a better way to go and maybe in this case, the kids will turn out better for it. As I said, the one thing that would benefit them is for the show to just end. That's something Jon's been calling for to happen for a couple of years. Kate's ego wouldn't hear it!

So, yes, after all this, I'm glad that Jon can get out. He'll still get to see his kids, but he won't have to endure the pain that will now become his ex-wife.

Can they change? Sure. Time will tell that. But, at least for now, he can get some of his sanity and control of his life back.

Winter Classic to be doubleheader at Fenway Park

Yes, January 1st will be a fine day to play two at Fenway Park!

No, it won't be a pair of Sox games, but a pair of hockey games. The Bruins will most likely face the Flyers while for the first time, there will also be college hockey.

Metro International reports today that Boston College will likely face Boston University while the Bruins will take on the Flyers (or Capitals) in the first ever NHL/College Winter Classic.

So, if the second NHL game in Calgary goes on as planned, we'll have outdoor hockey in three's on January 1, 2010.

I'd expect NESN or Comcast SportsNet New England to pick up the BU/BC game while NBC will of course do the Bruins game.

Can't wait!

Tiger Woods has to be kicking himself!

Yes, we are heading into the back nine of the final round at the rainy US Open this morning and Tiger Woods, playing 18, is at Even par, just four shots off the lead.

Man, he's got to be kicking himself for that first round finish of double bogey, bogey, par and bogey that left him at +4 after round one. What once was a good round or below or at level par through a rainy first day turned into a nightmare.

It looks like that could be the difference in him winning or losing.

We'll see how it turns out.

UPDATE: Tiger finished at Even par for the tournament after shooting a one under 69 today. Luke Glover is in the lead at -4 playing the 12th.

Dice-K out of Red Sox rotation - WWE in trouble for Trump angle?

A couple of newsworthy stories Saturday night -

* - To the delight of Red Sox Nation, Boston will skip over Daiskuke Matsuzaka's next start as he tries to figure out what's wrong with him. The team will give the right-hander an MRI as well. Look for them to find just enough to DL him (Boston Globe).

* - The WWE's fake sale angle of Monday Night RAW to Donald Trump is getting the SEC's attention. The Securities Commission will look into the drop of WWE stock by 7% right after the press release went out and see if anything wrong was done. I doubt they'll find anything. It's wrestling. It's fake people (Fox Business).
