Fox Sports.com's Baseball Guru Ken Rosenthal is first to report that Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis has a sprained ankle and tendinitis in his left achilles tendon and will miss the rest of the World Baseball Classic.
It seems Youk, who now joins teammate Dustin Pedroia in leaving Team USA with an injury, hurt the ankle a couple of days ago but gutted it out during last night's 6-5 victory over Puerto Rico that sent Team USA to the semi's. Youkilis homered and got a key bases loaded walk in the ninth inning that preceeded David Wright's game-winning two-run RBI single that won the game for the US, 6-5.
