URI advances in NIT play; American Idol top 11

My URI Rams move on in NIT play tonight with an impressive 68-62 road win at Niagara Tuesday night. Kahiem Seawright bangs home 23 points including all ten during a 10-0 Rams run to take the lead. Rhody, a 6th seed, will now play at Penn State (#2 seed), who knocked out George Mason 77-73 in overtime Tuesday night. The Rams have already beat the Nittany Lions once this season, 77-72 at the Philly Classic back in November.

Meanwhile on American Idol, tops of the night goes to Anoop Desai and Matt Giraud. Props to Anoop, who Simon said didn't belong in the top 13 after last week's perfromance, came through with a ringing rendition of Willie Nelson's "You Were Always On My Mind." Matt comes up a close 2nd with a soulful take on Carrie Underwood's "So Small."

My pick to go is Michael Sarver, with a forgettable version of Garth Brooks "Aint' Going Down 'Til the Sun Goes Up."

Should be a fun results show on Wednesday night as Carrie Underwood teams up with Randy Travis on a duet while Brad Paisely performs his new single, "Then."

We'll see Wednesday at 9pm, ET.
