Schilling retires, Pats vs. Bills open ESPN MNF, Lauer and Amstrong both have bike mishaps

Just a few quickhits as we try to manage things on a very busy Monday morning -

* - According to Ron Borges of the Boston Herald, the Patriots and Bills will open ESPN's Monday Night Football slate for the 2009 season. The Pats and Bills will be the 7pm game as the first part of a doubleheader on September 14.

* - Curt Schilling is officially retired according to his own blog on WEEI.com and 38 Pitches. SI.com also has more.

* - Matt Lauer of NBC's Today Show is out of action due to a bike mishap with a deer. USA Today has more. You can watch Meredith Viera and Lester Holt talk about this morning -



* - Lance Armstrong also fell off his bike too and is off to the hospital (SI.com).
