GORDON AND BUSCH SET FOR DUEL IN BRISTOL
– On Sunday, March 22 at 1:30 PM ET, FOX Sports blazes down Thunder Valley for NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing from Bristol. Following baby brother Kyle’s win in Vegas, Kurt Busch will look to make it two in a row this weekend in Bristol. The elder Busch has notched five wins at Bristol Motor Speedway and hopes to hold off current points leader Jeff Gordon who has run well thus far this season but has yet to record a victory. Prerace host Chris Myers along with analysts Jeff Hammond and Darrell Waltrip bring fans all the news and features from the Hollywood Hotel, FOX Sports’ traveling prerace set. Once the green flag drops, race announcer Mike Joy will be alongside Waltrip and Larry McReynolds to call all the twists and turns on the track while Dick Berggren, Steve Byrnes, Krista Voda and Matt Yocum patrol the pits for up-to-the-second reports on teams and pit stops.

DW: PATIENCE IS KEY TO WINNING BRISTOL – In his illustrious racing career, FOX Sports analyst Darrell Waltrip has recorded the most victories (12) at Bristol Motor Speedway which includes an unprecedented 3 year span from March of ’81 – April ’84 in which no other Cup series driver won at that track. Waltrip knows better than anyone what it takes to win in Bristol and he offered this advice to all the drivers competing on Sunday: “It’s about patience. I’m not talking about driving your race car very cautiously or slow. It’s patience with all the other drivers – that is key. You’ve got to know when you start the race that you’re going to get bumped, pushed, brushed and shoved. There are going to be things that happen that will irritate you. You have to be patient, take your time with everything and not get frustrated or angry.”

INTERACTIVE FOXSPORTS.COM Q&A WITH PIT REPORTER DICK BERGGREN – This Friday at 8PM ET / 5PM PT, NASCAR on FOX pit reporter Dick Berggren will participate in an interactive Q&A through FOXSports.com. Fans can access the chat and send in questions by logging onto http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/9344134.

HAMMOND: BRISTOL IS MADNESS – When talking about his favorite racetrack, FOX Sports analyst Jeff Hammond thinks the reason he loves Bristol the most is the volatility from green flag to checkered flag. “I’ve always said that if I had to buy a ticket to go to a race, Bristol would be the one,” the former Cup Champion crew chief said. “It’s real simple. If you go, you can really enjoy the noise, the beating, the banging, the hard racing, and the unpredictability of this place. It’s a mini speedway. Everybody is running around in a pack trying to get away from one another. You might end up being a victim of someone else’s mistakes and you may be leading the race. There’s no respect and it’s not the kind of race you can predict. This is the first short tack of the year. We’ve already seen what has happened on the superspeedways and some of the mile-and-a-halves, now we come to this place where some of these guys are thinking, ‘Hmmm, I have an opportunity for payback.’ We may see some folks throw some helmets and lose their cool. It puts you on the edge of your seat. When you talk about Bristol, you talk about madness.”
