The NHL has suspended Sean Avery of the Dallas Stars indefinitely. Why you might ask? Well, it's for a statute in the NHL by-laws about conduct detrimental to the league or hockey. NHL.com has the official details.
Now, here are the REAL reasons why according to TMZ.com -
It all comes down to Avery's ex-girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert of "The Girl Next Door" and "24" fame. Cuthbert is now dating Dion Phaneuf of the Calgary Flames. Well, during a morning practice before a Stars/Flames game, Avery said this to the media:

"I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about. Enjoy the game tonight."
Oh my!

Well, NHL commish Gary Bettmen has responded and the Stars are backing him up by saying if the commish didn't suspend him, the Stars would've.
Avery's next words will be to the commish himself now.
